Happy anniversary

It's our 12th wedding anniversary today and I wanted to mark the occasion. Nic is thousands of miles away somewhere over the Atlantic and we've both been too busy over the last few days to have any special time together. So I was feeling a bit mopey until I caught sight of this wedding picture and suddenly felt cheered by the thought of how far we've come, how much we've shared and done together. What's a few thousand miles when I'm surrounded by things we've created, bought or made together (including 2 mainly lovely kids who are totally oblivious to any sense of occasion and are demanding something to eat).

So as I head off to a SATS meeting at school tonight instead of a candle lit dinner for two, I'll still have a smile on my face and thoughts of how we'll celebrate on Saturday instead.
