Hammer House of Horror

OK - I'm showing my age with this title! I went to the amazing Crewe Hall for a networking event today - must find out something about its history but it was very gothic and darkly beautiful. Dark wood panelling, huge fireplaces, elaborately decorated ceilings, carved marble coats of arms, gargoyles and menacing statues at every turn. It was a beautiful, sunny early Spring day, blue skies and warm sunshine but I still felt a cold chill whenever I was alone!

I decided to make this a black & white shot to make it more menacing and then experimented with posterising the background. I couldn't decide whether to use this effect but I consulted my wise 9 year old advisor, Sam who stated that the project is not just about taking the shot, but using the right kind of editing too. Job done! Thank you oh wise one!
