On 2nd February I photographed some dwarf tulips when they were just green shoots peeping out of the bulbs. Today's shot is of those same tulips now gloriously in flower. I've been playing around with my new studio lights and tried a few different lighting set ups. Two lights did a great job giving me some lovely soft shadows and modelling but I felt that something was still missing - the waxy texture of the petals and the leaves was lacking. This final shot is a combination of natural daylight (overcast day) with just one light on the other side. I much prefer this result with the natural textures preserved. Great fun playing around!
