This photograph was inspired by a beautiful book - "beach - a book of treasure" by Josie Iselin. I fell in love with it at the Eden Project shop and bought it even though I couldn't really afford it at the time! Ever since then I've been scouring beaches for shells, drift wood, pieces of pottery, sea glass and got really lucky when we went to Cape Verde in 2010. But see how long it has taken me to get round to doing anything with them!
I love this shot - it's not perfect by any means - the black fabric has a noticeable grain to it when you zoom in and I'd like to experiment with different light including a combination of daylight and studio light. So watch this space for more shells.

I love this and look forward to seeing what you do next with your shell collection. We love the Eden project too, just down the road from us so we go there quite a lot
