Get your skates on!

The theme of feet / shoes / selective colouring continues, this time with Abi's ice skates. I couldn't go to her skate lesson tonight and even had I been able to, it's nigh on impossible to get a good photo of her on the ice - scratched plastic barrier, nasty strip lighting, camera shake from freezing temperatures!

I don't get too hung up on formal composition rules - if my eye likes a shot then chances are it's obeying some rule or other. I didn't give a lot of thought to this at the time, but I think the repetition of pattern / stripes - the chair slats, the laces and the stripey socks - rescue this from being just a snapshot. But let me know if you think different - composition isn't my strongest point.

I'll try to explore the footwear / feet theme more this week but not necessarily with selective colouring - I just felt it worked well on today's and yesterday's shots.
